Why Airless?
Why do we ONLY use airless dispensers?
We exclusively use airless dispensers to avoid oxidation and degradation of the formulations.
All Airless dispensers used for Recipes by Dr. Darko products are recyclable and compliant with Ecocert and Cosmos standards for organic and natural cosmetics.
Vegetable oils may turn rancid when exposed to oxidation, heat or light. As a consequence, plant oils are optimally stored at room temperature in an airless dispenser that protects it from oxygen and light.
The term „airless“ means „without air“ . An airless pump dispenser is typically used in the cosmetics industry to protect products that are degraded by exposure to oxygen.
An Airless Pump Bottle is a non-pressurized vacuum dispensing system that utilizes a mechanical pump in a bottle. As you push down on the pump, the disc in the bottle rises to push the product out of the pump. Once the bottle is filled, the material stored inside the bottle is preserved and maintain its integrity until used up. These kinds of airless pump bottles allow dispensing the contents without the need to take off the lid, even when the content is low.
Benefits:
- Airless packaging helps to keep air and other contaminants out of the product, thus extending shelf life
- Hygienic, consistent and simple to use.
- Airless bottles are always sealed, even when using for dispensing. Convenient and comfortable to use with a 360° application.
- An airless container can lie on its side or be stored upside down. This will not affect the dispensing of the product. Again, this is due to the vacuum dispensing effect.
- Can be recycled and be used again to create new plastic products.
How to use an airless dispenser:
When using your airless pump dispenser for the first time, you may need to “prime” your dispenser. To prime your dispenser, pump dispenser slowly about 10 to 15 times. This process of priming will activate the vacuum pump system.
If at any time your dispenser stops working, simply repeat the priming process to reactivate the vacuum pump system.
